Girl Scouts of USA, National Historic Preservation Center (NHPC) – Tour: Archive and Exhibit


Monday, October 6, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Join the Girl Scout National Historic Preservation Center (NHPC) team on the eve of the 53rd Girl Scout National Council Session and Convention, where Girl Scout History Conference - “Archives in Action” - will convene. Take a tour of the archive and exhibit to get a glimpse at how NHPC leverages its assets for training and beyond. NHPC, a department at Girl Scouts of the USA national headquarters in New York City, includes an exhibit and archives established in 1987 to preserve and promote Girl Scout History. The collection dates back to 1912, the inception of Girl Scouting, has over 60,000 photographs, 7,000 publications, 5,000 periodicals, 650 Girl Scout uniforms, ephemera and official records of the national organization. There is also a media collection with 600 cubic feet of materials in various formats dating back to 1918.
