"The Future Is Now"

Community Conversation on Career Issues

Posted on behalf of the Special Libraries Association, New York Chapter (SLA NY) and New York Metropolitan Library Council (METRO)

Technological advancement is so rapid that information professionals must dedicate more and more time to keeping up.  To address this, SLA NY is hosting a series of community conversations highlighting where our profession is headed and how we can prepare for it.

"The Future Is Now" Community Conversation Series starts on Thursday, February 26, 2015 with an exploration of the state of librarianship as a career.  Our panelists will help us find out what positions employers are seeking, what skills they’re looking for and what it takes to break free and go independent.  A facilitated discussion will follow so bring your questions and join the conversation.
