Archives Week 2015: CUNY in the Bronx: Hall of Fame Collection Showcase

Lloyd Ultan, Bronx Borough Historian, will give a lively talk about the history of the Hall of Fame for Great Americans, and the BCC Archives will present a preliminary showcase of rare archival items from its collection currently being processed documenting the Hall of Fame, the first memorial of its kind in the country that was built to honor prominent Americans who made a significant impact on this nation's history.

This event is part of a series of events titled CUNY in the Bronx. CUNY in the Bronx will guide the uninitiated between Bronx Community College, Lehman College, and Hostos Community College to illustrate Bronx’s rich intellectual legacy. Come and gain a deeper understanding of this overlooked yet vital area of New York City as well as learn more about CUNY’s role in enriching the lives of Bronx residents. 

The series consists of public lectures and events and a collaborative digital exhibit entitled Bronx 100which highlights archival material from the archives at Hostos and BCC documenting CUNY’s impact on higher education in the Bronx. These events are co-sponsored by the Bronx Community College, Hostos Community College, Lehman College and the Bronx Tourism Council.
