Opening Celebration of AFAM Archives at the Collection and Education Center
American Folk Art Museum
Come celebrate the American Folk Art Museum’s archives, which are accessible to researchers for the first time in the Museum’s history. Our newly opened Collections and Education Center in Long Island City houses the Museum’s archives, library, art storage, a gallery space devoted to displaying works from the permanent collection, and our administrative offices—all in the same location for the very first time. Join us for small group tours of the reading room and library and archive storage, view some highlights from the archival collections, see the new gallery space where a selection of quilts will be on display, and celebrate with a wine and cheese reception.
