The Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (A.R.T.) will celebrate the 28th Anniversary of New York Archives Week (October 19 – 27, 2016) with archives, libraries, museums, historic houses, and other cultural institutions across the five boroughs and beyond with lectures, tours, symposia and workshops, all free and open to the public. New York Archives Week is A.R.T.’s signature outreach initiative, attended by hundreds of New Yorkers annually, and raising awareness of the importance of preserving and making accessible our documentary heritage.
The A.R.T. Awards Ceremony (Thursday, Oct. 27) is New York Archives Week’s premier event and assembles +100 leading professionals in the New York archives and information professionals community to honor the work of institutions and individuals who provide vital support to archival programs (honorees listed below). Taking place at the New York Junior League, the Awards Ceremony is a great opportunity for local archivists and those who support archives to demonstrate their support of our professional community.
We will be issuing Commemorative Journals where individuals, companies, and other organizations may publish celebratory wishes for honorees and advertisements. The journals will be distributed at the event and posted online, maximizing their reach and exposure for participating sponsors and participants. Ad registration info listed below.
