Archives Week 2017 -- Show & Tale: Artifacts & Totems
Bring a significant object from your personal/business history collection and share its tale in 3 minutes or less at our NY Archives Week Happy Hour(s). Did you keep your first business card? Or diploma? Or that napkin with the first notes about the business you have/are/thinking of creating? Do you have a favorite spoon(s), mug, pen, pair of boots? Do you have a “lucky” piece of clothing you wear on important dates? Have you kept cards, letters & thank you notes you read over and over that make you feel like pushing ahead? A favorite recipe you make when you’re feeling down or like celebrating? Aprons, clothing, kitchen gadgets, photos, paintings, jewelry, tools.... You get the picture. Every Thing has a story©. Bring these & any other object that has a story to show and tell. Like Antiques Roadshow meets The Moth or Pinterest but in person. And remember you don't have to show & tell... you can just look & listen. Get to know other archives enthusiasts by telling a little bit of your personal history through a favorite photo or object.
