The majority of collections acquired by New York University’s Special Collections include born-digital material, which presents challenges for processing archivists. Three processing archivists in NYU’s Archival Collections Management department will discuss the ways in which they use Forensic Toolkit (FTK) in processing born-digital archival materials. Topics include imaging a wide range of physical digital material, strategies for processing through gigabytes (and occasionally terabytes) of data efficiently, and privacy issues.
