Why do we need accessioning best practices?

Due to the broad impact of accessioning across an institution, all archivists and archives administrators will benefit from an increased understanding and appreciation of accessioning.

For accessioning archivists, the Best Practices are a scalable framework to be modified and applied to their local contexts. The document also includes guidance to help them advocate for themselves and demonstrate the value of their efforts to others in their institutions. For managers, the Best Practices offer concrete recommendations to set accessioning archivists up for success in their roles and support them in their work.

We hope you can join us to learn more about the Accessioning Best Practices!

With thanks from the workshop organizing committee,

Haian Abdirahman, Regina Carra, Margo Padilla, Rachel Searcy
