Calling all K-12 educators. Join us at this year's Archives Education Institute!

The Archives Education Institute (AEI) is a free program designed to introduce primary sources to educators in Grades K-12 as viable and practical resources for classroom instruction. This year’s event will showcase the rich resources in the Digital collections of the NYPL's Rare Books and Manuscripts & Archives Divisions.  


Date: Saturday October 19th, 2024

Time: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Location: Room 216. Vartan Gregorian Center for Research in the Humanities at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building of the New York Public Library. 


Please Note: 

  • Registration is limited to 30 people.
  • No food or drink are permitted in the library.


Event Run of Show:

11:00 am -- 11:15 am: Welcome and Introduction 

11:15 am -- 11:45 am: Slide show of collections offered digitally from the Manuscripts and Rare books division 

11:50 am -- 12:20 pm: Presentation by the Center for Educators on department resources

12:20 pm -- 12:40 pm: Q and A

12:40 pm – 1:00 pm: Socializing/ optional viewing of the 4 free exhibitions currently on display at NYPL .


This in-person event is  limited to 30 people. Registration is non-transferable. Please note that you MUST reserve a ticket in advance online in order to attend this event.

On the occasion that the event is sold out, we highly recommend joining the waitlist. A member of the A.R.T. staff will reach out to you if a spot becomes available. Unless you've been given permission, please do not show up at the event without registering.
